These results suggest that subchronic low-level exposure to arsenic can affect immune responses and/or spontaneous behavior of rats.
Suspected Psychosis Associated with Chronic Arsenic Poisoning

Background: The clinical features of arsenic poisoning have been well described and include skin manifestations, gastrointestinal symptoms, hematologic abnormalities, mental confusion, hallucinations, and delusions. Although the literature contains several reports of arsenic intoxication and the resulting sequelae, there are limited published case reports detailing psychosis. We present the case of suspected psychosis associated with chronic arsenic poisoning.
