: Hi, I am a registered nurse taking a course in Health of our commnnities and I am presenting a paper on treated wood and it's dangers. I seem to be having difficulties in finding health environmental policies from our government regarding this. Would you have any suggestions of sites I could consult for such information.

: Thank You

Hi Nicole,

The reason you are having trouble finding them is because the government has not released them. When ever I deal with victims, the various levels of government will not respond. They are in a very unusual position. They have been keeping studies from the public , like Health Canada's Dieter Riedels report that was written in the late 80's warning of dangers. If they were to announce what has been known for years then they would put themselves in a position of liability. It is much easier to phase out the wood and hope the issue fades away. If you would like Dieters study, which he gave me, or other info that I recieved under the freedom of info act email me and I will send it to you.
I also can provide you with two studies done on victims and the contact info for two of the doctors who worked on them. Check out the link to Europe on my home page and read what they have to say. Also the Govenor of New York signed a bill last week banning cca playground structures of which I am still waiting for the press release. I can also put you in contact with a pediatrics nurse who did a paper on this issue and taught on the web about it. Good luck and please keep safe.
Deborah
